Mill Volvo Apprentice Careers
One of the most exciting changes to take place since our acquisition by Stoneacre has been welcoming our brand new Customer Service Apprentices to the team. Each of our four Mill Volvo branches has gained a new apprentice through the Stoneacre Academy.
The Stoneacre Academy was set up to help develop talent from the grass-roots. It is an Ofsted regulated Academy with a direct contract to Education skills funding agency. The Academy offers apprentices fully-funded training, so potential candidates have the opportunity to earn while they learn.
As well as being in paid employment, the apprentices get the opportunity to learn real work skills on the job while gaining credible qualifications. Stoneacre Academy offers apprenticeships in all aspects of the motor trade as well as non-industry specific roles including marketing, accountancy, Human Resources and web development.
The driving force behind the Stoneacre Academy is its motto of ‘careers for life’, with many apprentices going on to further their career within the motor group.
The New Apprentices
Our first four Mill Volvo apprentices will all be learning the ropes as Customer Service apprentices and will go on to gain a Level 2 Customer Service Diploma over the coming year.
The four chosen candidates proved their worth throughout the rigorous recruitment process. The team whittled down over 300 applicants down to just four through phone interviews and a jam-packed assessment day. The assessment day is a particular challenge for the applicants but gives the assessors a unique opportunity to see the candidate’s personality and true potential in numerous situations from presentations to group exercises and even one-on-one interviews.
